A Great Shopping Experience – The Country House

Country House is the largest gift shop on the island, known for its unique items. There are all types of commemorative gifts to preserve memories of the trip long after departing. The shop is located in the middle of downtown Put-In-Bay. It is across the street from the beautiful DeRivera Park and a stone’s throw from the Edgewater Hotel. You can buy charming and delightful souvenirs of Lake Erie as the shelves of the store are filled with little trinkets and decorative pieces.

The store has traditional gift items such as postcards, apparel, keychains and housewares along with other whimsical presents too. They also sell artwork by local artists and literature by authors, so there is something for everyone. Acclaimed Put-in-Bay mystery writer Bob Adamov has written many chilling tales set in the South Bass Island and all are available for purchase there. Many authors often hold book signings at the Country House so you might run into someone during your visit. Some of the featured treasures available at the store other than souvenirs and keepsakes are nautical themed interior décor. There are furnishings for the sailor-inspired visitors who would like their home to remind them of a beach house too.

Spend Hours Browsing at the Country House.

Make sure you spend enough time in there to look at all the gift items and admire the displays. There are gift items such as sweatshirts, caps, accessories and even Vera Bradley purses. There are surprises around every corner so much to see that it would require hours for you to go through it all. You can grab a tumbler from the collection of mugs and cups so you can take your drinks with you on a stroll.
