Put-in-Bay June 2019 Events

There are plenty of things to keep you and your family busy on the island in June. Among the most popular are the following:

Put-in-Bay Music Festival

On Saturday, June 8th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Put-in-Bay Music Festival will take place on the grass lawn across from the Dairy Isle Restaurant. There will be six bands, food and drink available and more. 

Pooch Parade

The Island Pooch Parade will be held Saturday, June 15th, in DeRivera Park and is one of the more popular June 2019 Events. Dogs of all kinds and sizes are encouraged to participate. Registration for this amusing, fun event will open in the Gazebo at 9:30 a.m., followed by the children led traditional doggie stroll around the Park at 10:30. Judging will immediately follow the parade. This is always an enjoyable and entertaining event for the entire island and particularly the children. Cats are NOT invited.

Founder’s Day

The annual Founders Day Celebration at Put-in-Bay will be held in the center of the village at DeRivera Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 15th. This free, family-focused island event, is hosted at Put-in-Bay and celebrates the founding of Put-in-Bay by Hispanic merchant Jose DeRivera. Founder’s Day will feature live entertainment, playing popular tunes in a fair-type atmosphere. Children’s games will be available from noon to 2 p.m. There will also be local crafters and jewelry makers selling their wares. Pick up a vintage Put-in-Bay souvenir, handcrafted items, tee-shirts, jewelry and more.

Island Artisans Fair

Local artists will gather at the Put-in-Bay Town Hall on Thursday, June 20th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to sell art, crafts, beauty products and more. If you are interested in participating, please contact Christie Ontko at freshwatersensations@yahoo.com.

Pirate Festival

The 11th Annual Pirate Festival will take place from June 21st to 23rd in the downtown park. Scallywags, Pirates, Buccaneers, Mermaids, Corsairs, Wenches, and all common folk are invited to this fun-filled event. Put-in-Bay’s annual Pyrate Fest sees the return of the
Pirate King to find his stolen treasure. Fun for the whole family with costume contests for kids and adults, cardboard boat races, watch Pyrates invade the Put-in-Bay Harbor, a 5K Run, a Pyrate Village, Faire Winds Circus, historic displays, re-enactors and so much more!
Don’t forget to dress like a Pirate and Save $1 OFF your round trip passenger fare for Put-in-Bay, any time during Pirate Fest.

Perry’s Monument Sunset Tour

Perry’s Monument Sunset Tour will take place on Friday, June 21st, from 8 to 9:30 p.m., the day of the Summer Solstice. The evening Summer Solstice Ticket includes a trip to the Observation Deck to experience the longest day of the year. There is a $20 fee for adults and a $10 fee for kids (5-15) for the evening program and tickets can be purchased through the NPS Fee Portal site, recreation.gov, until 48
hours prior to the event. All tickets must then be purchased at the Ticket Desk in the column the night of the event.

Pirate 5K Run

The Pirate Run 5K to benefit Stein Hospice will be held at DeRivera Park on Bayview Ave. on June 23rd. The cost is $20 in advance or $25 day of the race. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Reel Bar, 461 Catawba Avenue, with the race beginning at 9:30 a.m. Registration Package: $35 includes race, round trip passenger fare aboard Miller Ferry, and bus transportation (available only until June 10).
