Fish Shak happens to be a part of the Boardwalk family of restaurants at Put-in-Bay. Since 1985, the Boardwalk has been a focal point for casual dining and drinks. On many weekends, The Boardwalk offers a great variety of family-friendly entertainment on the main deck in a waterfront venue. The Boardwalk is divided into the Upper and Main Deck along with several other bars & restaurants therein. Both decks offer the same open atmosphere and beautiful viewpoint.
The Fish Shack Particulars
The Fish Shack will be on your left as you top the stairs entering the main deck. You will see a large plate glass window where you can observe the breading machine lightly coating the fresh Lake Erie Yellow Perch & Walleye you are about to enjoy! The jumbo onion rings which are offered as an upgrade for a small additional charge are also breaded here.
This spot is ideal for families and folks who need a quick and delicious meal before heading out on an adventure on the island. Seating is along the walkway or inside on the main deck. Orders are placed by walk up and your number is called when your order is complete. The Fish Shack offers most of their seafood in a sandwich or in a heartier basket size served with freshly prepared French Fries or onion rings, Cole slaw, and homemade Tartar Sauce. For the really big appetites, a full 1lb Yellow Perch Dinner is available!
The Upper Deck
The Upper Deck Restaurant is the spot for upscale tableside service and exquisite views. This second level was added in 2007, and it offers a 180-degree panoramic view of Lake Erie. Every dish in the upper deck is freshly prepared by local chef’s, and it has an extensive wine and beer list as well as a mouthwatering martini menu. Steaks, Pasta, Lobster & other seafood specialties complete the menu.
Rita’s Cantina is one of the spots that make up the upper level, and it’s the home of one of the most extensive tequila lists around the Island. Enjoy one of their many famous handcrafted margaritas or sip a shot of fine Patron well enjoyed while looking over the Put-in-Bay downtown area. The menu is primarily Tex-Mex and well done! The two smaller islands Gibraltar and Middle Bass Island are viewable from this point and are quite interesting beautiful.
The Main Deck
The Boardwalk Main Deck has three counter service restaurants located inside the building. It is an outstanding place for large groups or families with different dining tastes as there is something for everyone. These counter service restaurants provide you with the opportunity to step right to any counter of your choice and place your order. The Little Galley is on the main deck and serves the family’s favorites ranging from Black Angus Burgers and hot dogs to French fries and white meat Chicken Strips.
At the end of the main deck on the left side is Book’s Seafood, which serves gourmet fare at an affordable price cafeteria style. Specialties include Alaskan King Crab, New Zealand Mussels Key West Shrimp, and Live Maine Lobster. Sandwiches and wraps complete the menu along with fresh salads. Wherever you choose to dine DON’T MISS the Lobster Bisque. For over 25 years thousands of customers return annually for this homemade delicacy. Served by cup or by bread pot for the heartier appetite.
Claw daddy’s Bar
The bar occupies the spot right next to the water and includes a smoking area. This small and yet gorgeous bar has a full cocktail list, wine, and beer to offer.
