All golf carts rented on Put-in-Bay are considered to be motor vehicles, just like cars, drivers and passengers must follow all traffic laws. The local Put-in-Bay Police strictly prohibit drinking and driving. Each year, the Put-in-Bay Police Department, unfortunately, issues dozens of DUIs to golf cart operators. If you and your friends plan on drinking, please do so responsibly and utilize a Put-in-Bay taxi.

All golf carts must have functioning turn signals, taillights, and seat belts. To rent golf carts, renters must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. The Put-in-Bay Police will stop you if you have more passengers than the cart is designed for. For example, if you have a four-person golf cart, you cannot have five passengers.
