Put-in-Bay Pirate Fest
Pirates invaded Put-in-Bay's downtown harbor Friday afternoon to open the 2010 Put-in-Bay Pirate Fest. Saturday had a Pirate Parade and Costume Contest for kids and adults. Today on Sunday, Capt. Willie gives his Kid's Safety Program and tomorrow on Monday is the infamous Cardboard Boat Races.
The Brig Niagara returned to protect the harbor from maurading pirates. Downtown in the DeRivera Park, the Pirate Marketplace has been open throughout the weekend. Black powder and cannon firing demonstrations have stirred the air with their loud reports. Reenactors demonstrated sword fighting techniques and the art of skullduggary. The Brig Niagara is offering Day Sails and tours of the ship on Friday, Saturay and Sunday. You can book a reservation onboard for an educational sail around the islands through the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce before they leave port.
